Rural Business Ideas Service Public Hunting
Some places around rural America don’t even consider the word tourism when they look into starting a business. The only touristy thing they get to see is maybe an influx of hunters a few time a year when certain animals come into season.
Unless you were thinking about building a 100 room hotel for flocks of tourists its not a viable idea, but when looked at within the economy of scale properly it is a viable business to build a plan around. Providing land for public hunting in itself is not a big money business plan. But if you add all the little amenities that these hunters look for when they come to town for the week it can be good business.
If you’re in the middle of a public hunting preserve you already know what these hunters look for. Sleeping quarters, food and beverages, a place to shower and change, safely park their vehicles and maybe some extra ammo. Do you have a campground that’s closed for the winter? Maybe winterizing a section of it to provide for the off season hunters would add some income.
If your area has year around hunting maybe a Quonset hut next to your general store with a communal shower and cots added would attract more hunters from farther away next season. There are even special places on the Internet to add you lodging package advertisement. Take you seasonal or small coverage business and open it up to these little bumps in the economy and take advantage of the business possibilities.
